AquaBank® Garden

Australia is the world's driest inhabited continent. Rainwater is a precious and scarce resource. Awareness of the need to make the most efficient use of our water resources is rapidly increasing in our society. State and Local Government bodies are
requiring rainwater management programs to be incorporated into the design of urban developments. While the use of tanks for
rainwater collection has long been part of the Australian rural scene, it is now becoming a part of the modern urban
environment. The AquaBank® Garden system has been developed by Mittagong Concrete Products (MCP) for the collection and reuse of rainwater for external household use.

Collecting roof water run-off provides a safe source of water for watering gardens, topping up ponds and pools and washing cars, thus conserving our drinking water. B
y reducing the amount of storm water run off  leaving each property, pressure on
Municipal drainage systems and local flooding is reduced.
The AquaBank® Garden system offers flexibility through a
number of packages for home owners who wish to supplement the town water supply during periods of water shortage. An
optional STORZ fitting that enables the Fire Brigade to attach to the AquaBank® is available.

AquaBank® Garden is available in four nominal sizes, 9000 litres, 6000 litres, 4000 litres and 3300 litres and two
configurations for above ground or in ground applications.

Each system incorporates a concrete tank fitted with a submersible electric pressure pump, a float switch and a roof water inlet filter. The system is operated manually only when required, thus reducing running cost. The float switch ensures that the tank does not run dry, turning off the pump if the water falls below a set level. In-ground systems are supplied with a 'serpentine' roof water filter while a mosquito proof 20 micron bag filter is provided for above ground applications. The serpentine filter is a unique MCP design to help remove both floating material and finer particles from entering the tank.

The use of concrete tanks overcomes the disadvantages of other commonly used tank construction materials. Concrete has a long life, it is not susceptible to fire, is less susceptible to flotation, is more stable in windy conditions and has much greater strength. The concrete tanks used comply to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1546.1:1998.

All components used comply with the relevant Australian Standards to ensure that the system will provide years of reliable
service.
AquaBank® Garden is designed to make a valuable contribution toward solving the growing
problem of water shortages in our urban environment.
